Phlegm - Self Titled Cassette

Different Phlegm to the previous posts.  These guys hail from Darwin and recorded these tracks around 1986 - mostly live and at parties.  It's raw, Wired and Wasted.

Mu-Mesons & Phlegm Split 7''

Released and promptly ignored in 1995.  My main interest here lies with the Mu-Mesons, and Jamie Leonarder.  Whoah - these guys are out there.  Bigtime.  Full-on.

Live gigs were an event with audience members and the assorted joining in.  Apparently, on the way to a gig, band members would enlist anyone to be a part of the band.  This included various homeless 'victims' and the occasional mentally unstable volunteer.  As you do.

This is their one and only release.  The song 'Listen Bretheren' on a split 7'' with Phlegm.  Now, as for Phlegm, they're probably even more full-on.

Oh yeh - when will there be official compilations from Mu-Mesons?  A long time coming.  Obviously we will have to make do with live gigs but thats a given.  Please ....

Phlegm - Mr Hoo-Ha Visits The Non-Stop Pissing Circus

Three guys from Sydney: Oren Ambarchi, Robbie Avenaim and Nik Kamvissis, now quite 'famous'.  I guess they ask 'What is Music?'  Don't know if they really provide an answer with this release (I have never been able to listen to it from start to finish) - but they do ask such that it gets you thinking.  A little bit obnoxious perhaps.  Sheer brilliance you could say.  Having said that, I do like the work lately of Orem Ambarchi - well worth checking out.

Anyway, here's the album to give your mind and ears a solid workout.

Note that there are other releases from Phlegm that I am chasing the mp3 files for and would love to share:

• 'Live' CD

• 'Poppin' and Milkin' CD

• 'Pissa Pissa and The Cunt Is Jammed' Single

Please, can you help out.  An email would be appreciated.

Vampire Lovers - Acid Commandos From Planet Fuzz

Album released in 1991 after the Brisbane band called it quits.  It's really a collection but the singles released follow this entry.  Thoroughly enjoyable and perhaps a bit wacky.  Quality psych rock from Queensland's capital city.

Vampire Lovers - Buzzsaw Popstar 7''
