Deniz Tek - Orphan Tracks

A handy collection of assorted (non LP) tracks which found their way onto a 1989 CD. Now, hard to find. Deniz of course, was a founding member of Radio Birdman. Interesting guy - he's a Medical Doctor and pilot. Few can lay claim to that trifecta.

The Slaters - The Big Black Bug Bled Black Blood ...

The Sydneysiders one and only album from 1992. It includes bonus tracks which are of note. For starters, a cover of 'Oldest Story In The World' (Plimsouls) and also 'Stuff n Junk' (produced by Rob Younger.

This album took me sometime to get. Rare as rocking horse shit. It was released on Zero Hour Records - a Perth based label that's a bit of a fave of mine. Them good.

The singles that I'm listing below are requests. I do not have these. If you can help out with mp3 files, please do not hesitate to make contact via email or the Comments section.

The Slaters - Put Out The Trash EP

First release from 1986. My guess is that this would be pretty raw. All the better. If you can help out with any of these singles - PLEASE.

The Slaters - Teenage Dreamers 10''

Second single from 1988.

The Slaters - Crystal Girl 7""

Their last single from 1989. The song 'Crystal Girl' is contained on their LP/CD but it's the B-Side I'm after: 'Pharoah's Curse'.

The eagle has landed - thank you to Nolti (from Berlin) for sending through these mp3 files. He has a Punk Rock Radio Website (New Rose). WELL worth checking out. Play it in the background. In the foreground. Heck, everywhere.

The Scientists - 1982 (aka Live Sydney Uni, May 1982)

Cassette only release from 1982. It's official name seems to be '1982', though I have seen it referred to as 'Live Sydney Uni'. It's a great live album - but has never seen the light of day since. Some tracks have appeared on other releases: 'Rubber Never Sleeps' (originally, another cassette only release but now has been re-ished on a dubble LP) and 'Swampland (Birth of The Scientists)'. I think also a track or two appeared on the CD Box Set 'A Place Called Bad'.

Either way, it's an absolute mystery to me as to why this has not been reissued. It's a killer cassette and deserves to be heard again. Some tracks have never been seen anywhere else ('Tiger Tiger', 'Monsters In The Back of my Mind', 'You'll Get Yours' and maybe 'In Time'). I'm happy with the transfer quality though you can occasionally hear that classic cassette 'fast/slow' whirring. Hey - cassettes die quickly - I was lucky to get this.
